Qwen 3 is the 2024 generation of Alibaba's open-weight, multilingual LLM family. It is known for strong performance across a wide language spread (especially Chinese and English) and ships with dedicated long-context and coding variants. Together with DeepSeek V3 it is one of the two main pillars of the China-based open-weight wave. It is also a key player in the Open-source Race — the geopolitical contour of the Open Source LLM conversation is largely shaped by these two Chinese labs.
